My name is Cliff Hobbs, and I am on a mission to help everyone live their best life through simple practices and routines (many of which are free), that can truly transform your life.
After all, we only get one life, so why not live the best we can for ourselves, our loved ones, and humanity?
I have to start this page here.
You can find more details about my history, how I discovered Gary, what I did, and literally how he fixed me below.
But I have to say, that I lost over ten YEARS of my life feeling down, depressed, burnt-out, just "off".
The National Health Service (NHS) Doctors in the UK failed me. They only offered me counselling with huge waiting lists, anti-depressants, or told me I just had to accept it.
Then one day, when I'm doomscrolling, a guy named Gary Brecka pops up on my feed, talking about methylation and a once-in-a-lifetime test that could account for some of what I was feeling.
I took the test. It showed I had a gene defect and needed a methylated multivitamin.
After taking this, I started to feel better, and now it's like the lights are back on again, and I've woken up from being a zombie.
I've got my energy and mojo back baby!!
And it's all down to Gary Brecka, whom I never paid for any testing or methylated multivitamins.
But that's not all. Following Gary's free advice, I'm now off my prescription proton pump inhibitor Omeprazole and have drastically reduced the number of migraine attacks I get (so I'm taking less of the prescription drug Sumatriptan).
All of this has literally changed my life in so many positive ways and I'm not done yet..!!
Gary, I hope you are reading this.
I can never thank you enough for transforming the lives of my family and me. You are such a kind, caring, unselfish and compassionate person. You are the Ultimate Human.
The reason this site exists is that you've inspired me to shout about your work to the world Gary (and those on the same mission ) to wake the world up from its zombie-like state, so that people can stop existing like I was and start living like I am now.
I will never stop saying thank you and shouting about all you have done for us.
In 2014 (maybe before), I started to feel "off". I just didn't feel me. I was feeling down, burnt out and tired all the time. I was stressed and comfort eating and piling on weight.
Maybe it was from all of the years travelling as an IT consultant, constantly on the go, and stressed; literally "chasing the money" whilst abusing my health had finally caught up with me?
I continued down this downward spiral for over a decade.
One Christmas Day, I sat on my bed and out of the blue, my mind put me into an emotional nose dive, taking me to some very dark places I'd never been before.
Thankfully, I snapped out of it and took a long, hard look in the mirror and said to myself, "WTF?".
Of course, over the years, I went to see my Doctor several times and practically saw a different Doctor every visit.
Their answer? Well, it was a mix of:
Acceptance seemed to be the only answer.
So I just put up with it, popping my over-the-counter multivitamins and drinking my glass of orange juice at breakfast to keep me "healthy".
Literally, it was a case of eat, sleep, work, repeat.
Head down, in donkey mode, plodding through life.
I don't know how it happened, but I was doomscrolling through Facebook sometime in October 2024.
For some reason, this guy called Dana White popped up on my feed saying how a guy called Gary Brecka had saved his life.
Just watching the first couple of minutes of the video got me intrigued, and I watched the whole thing.

Methyl what?
Then came this video where Gary explains to Joe Rogan the process of methylation.

In a nutshell, everything we eat must undergo a process to transform it into something our body can use (like we need to process crude oil into petrol so our cars can use it).
This process is known as methylation.
You don't just:
It's not that simple.
You have various routes in your body called methylation pathways that control how your body converts what you put into it into something the body can actually use.
If one of these pathways is broken (because you have a gene defect), then your body can't process what you're trying to give it. And because the methylation pathways are like a staircase, if one of the lower levels of methylation are broken, then it breaks all of the levels above it.
The most common gene defect is known as the MTHFR gene defect (also known as the "Mo Fo" gene), which is very common (44%+ of us have it).
If you have it, then basically it means your body is unable to process folate, which is the most prevalent compound in the human diet (anything with folic acid, enriched, fortified, etc.).
If you have the MTHFR gene defect, then you have two problems:
A methylation test is the only way to be 100% certain whether you have a gene defect, such as MTHFR (there are many others).
If you get unexplained anxiety, suffer from gut issues (gas, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating on waking, etc.), mood swings, exhaustion, and a racing mind at night then it might indicate a methylfolate deficiency.
And it affects kids as well, and can show up in the above, plus behavioural issues.
Watch this video where Gary explains it.

A Methylation Test is something you do once in your lifetime, as it's part of your DNA. I'll be doing a separate article and adding links to test providers soon.
It's just a simple cheek swab you send off to the lab. No needles. No blood draw.
I took my methylation test, and lo and behold, it flagged numerous issues, predominantly that I have the MTHFR gene defect.
So now I know I have it, how do I fix it?
If you have MTHFR, you need to be taking a methylated multivitamin.
What this basically does is act as a bridge to compensate for the gene defect.
My body needs methyfolate. I'm eating folate, but I need to get it across the river. But the big, bad MTHFR gene defect has destroyed the bridge and factory that performs the conversion from folate to methylfolate.
What a methylated multivitamin does is act as that bridge and processing plant, so now when I eat folate, the methylated vitamin helps me process it into methyfolate and pass it onto the next level in my methylation cycle.
Had I not done the test, I'd never have known. But the methylation test is only one half of the equation.
Doing the DNA test is only half the equation.
The other half is regular bloodwork, so you know what is going on inside your body NOW.
So I signed up for some private blood tests (not the basic ones my NHS Doctor offers), and I was shocked at the results.
My homocysteine was through the roof. Why is this bad?
As your body processes protein, it naturally creates homocysteine, which it recycles. If you have the MTHFR gene defect, this recycling process slows to a snail's pace, leading to a buildup of homocysteine.
So?
High homocysteine levels can cause inflammation (which we definitely don't want) and also stiffen your blood vessels, which is also very bad.
So, I started taking a daily methylated multivitamin, and six months later, my latest blood tests show that my homocysteine levels are normal.
Sure, I have other issues in my results, but at least by doing six-monthly tests, I can see:
Remember, most of the really bad diseases, such as cancer, don't literally appear overnight. The signs are there, but we have to know what we're looking for and where to look.
I'll post details on blood tests, providers, etc. in an upcoming article.
So hopefully it's clear from the above that had I not taken the methylation test and the blood tests Gary recommended, I would still be trapped in my doom loop, existing and probably heading for an early grave.
But now I feel alive and raring to go with a newfound passion to set up this website and shout Gary's message (and others on the same mission of waking humanity up) and let those suffering know there IS a choice.
You don't need to exist.
You can LIVE...!!!
PS - Following Gary's free advice, I'm now also off of my prescription proton pump inhibitor Omeprazole and have drastically reduced the number of migraine attacks I get (so I'm taking less of the prescription drug Sumatriptan).
